POTSDAM -- The piano faculty and students at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music are calling spring 2015 the “Brahms Semester,” with a series of concerts and events honoring the composer.
There are two upcoming Brahms performances. On Tuesday, March 17, piano students and professors will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater. Following an introduction by Gary Busch, there will be performances of works for solo piano and for four hands by Johannes Brahms.
On Thursday, March 26, the Crane Faculty Recital Series will feature a performance by Paul Wyse and François Germain, piano, at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall. This performance will include Brahms compositions for solo piano and for two pianos.
The “Brahms Semester” will culminate in the Crane School of Music performance of Brahms' "German Requiem" during the Lougheed-Kofoed Festival of the Arts in April. To learn more, visit www.potsdam.edu/artsfestival.
