OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer a certified “About Boating Safely” course 5 to 9 p.m. June 14 and 15 at the United Helpers Mosaic Center, 100 Ford St.
The course is required of all state residents age 14 and older who operate a personal watercraft such as a jet ski, those age 10 - 18 who operate a boat alone, and anyone born on or after May 1, 1996 who operates a motorized boat unsupervised.
Students will check out safety equipment items and receive a textbook and federal and state rule books to keep. Participants must attend both nights.
Cost is $35; a family plan is available.
