SOUTH COLTON -- A boater safety course sponsored by The Higley Association and presented by NYS certified trainers Jim and Sue Corbett will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Community Center, Sugar Bush Lane.
Those born on or after May 1, 1996 are required to successfully complete an approved course in boater education in order to operate a motorboat, and for those 14 and older to operate a personal watercraft (Jet-Ski).
Those younger than 10 years old are not eligible to take this course.
There is no charge for course materials, but, for those 18 and older, there will be a $10 fee made payable to the NYS Department of Parks and Recreation to cover certificate cost.
