POTSDAM -- A New York State Department of Parks and Recreation-Marine Unit sponsored boater safety class is being offered 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16 in the Civic Center community room with volunteer instructors Jim and Sue Corbett.
The course is required for anyone wishing to operate a personal watercraft, such as a Jet Ski or Sea-Doo in New York.
People under 14 may not operate one of them without an adult.
Children between 10 and 18 must complete the course and exam to operate a motorized boat solo in New York. There is no charge for this course.
