MASSENA -- Emmanuel Congregational Church, 39 West Orvis St., will hold a Blue Christmas Service Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas time is a season when not everyone feels cheerful or joyful.

Coping with the death of a loved one, facing your first holiday season after a recent divorce or loss of a job, living with chronic illness or pain, clinical depression or battling a disease such as cancer can make holiday parties and festivities painful.

The service offers a time to remember both persons and events that have been a part of our lives in the past, but are now changed or gone.
