MASSENA – The Friends of the Nature Center at Robert Moses State Park, Inc. announce a fall workshop fundraiser, “Bittersweet Wreath Workshop,” Saturday, Oct. 1 at the trail head.
Two sessions will be available: 11a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 1-2:30 p.m.
The workshop fee is $10 per participant.
No experience is necessary, but participants should bring a pair of hand-held pruners, gardening gloves and dress for the weather.
This class will be held outdoors, under the large tent by the trail head.
The class will prune a patch of domesticated bittersweet planted more than 25 years ago by past park manager, Pete Sainola.
This vine grows up trees, wrapping around itself as well and has showy yellow flowers with an orange center; making it a favorite fall decoration.
