MASSENA – Fall foliage lovers are invited to make their own Bittersweet wreath Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.

This gorgeous plant grows in a natural vine with tiny yellow flowers that produce an orange berry, making it a favorite fall decoration for many.

Although wild Bittersweet is a protected plant, the center is fortunate to have a purposely planted garden of the plant which is in much need of pruning.

The cuttings will be done for participants ahead of time, so the class is open to all ages and will be held rain or shine

The fee is $12 per participant.

No experience is necessary – just bring a pair of garden gloves and hand-held pruners.

The Nature Center is temporarily located at the beach on Barnhart Island.

Call 764-5498 to pre-register or for additional information.
