‘Bikers Battle Violence’ poker run from Madrid Sept. 16

MADRID -- Supporters of Renewal House host a motorcycle poker run on Sunday, Sept. 16.

The third annual “Bikers Battle Violence” fundraising event will benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in St. Lawrence County.

Registration is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Ole Smokehouse, 3512 County Rt. 14.

The route is a tour around the county with four planned stops before returning to The Ole Smokehouse for a buffet.

Registration is $20 per bike and $10 per rider. T-shirts and buffet are included in the cost of registration. Just the buffet $10 and t-shirts can be purchased for $15. There will also be a poker hand for an additional $5. Many items are up for raffle, and there is a 50/50. All proceeds go directly to Renewal House.

Renewal House is committed to providing crisis intervention, emotional support and various other services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault throughout St. Lawrence County. Their mission is to respond immediately to the needs of victims through services which empower victims and increase community awareness.
