CANTON -- The Bees & Beekeeping Discussion Group monthly gathering on Wednesday, September 28 takes place at 7 p.m. in the Betty Evans Community Room at the E.J. Noble Medical Bldg., 80 East Main St.
All levels of beekeepers are welcome to attend.
Mark Berninghausen, of Squeak Creek Apiaries, demonstrate how he makes new nucleuses using a hive and "nuc" equipment. The rest of the time will be spent with questions, successes and challenges being discussed in a casual group setting. It is free, though small donations are appreciated for workshop creation.
In addition, there are two other important free events concerning bees and pollinators, hosted by the St. Regis Mohawk Environmental Division on Sept. 22 and the weekend of Sept. 24-25. Information on those events can be found in the Upcoming Events section of the LLV website: www.LocalLivingVenture.org.
