POTSDAM – A lucky fan will take home a new 40-inch flat screen television during SUNY Potsdam’s 11th annual “Bear Pride Night” on Jan. 31.

The first game will feature the women’s basketball team as they take on New Paltz at 6 p.m. The men's basketball team follows the women’s game, as they will take on the Hawks at 8 p.m.

In the featured promotion of the night to be held at halftime of the men's basketball game, spectators will face off in the "Sears Shootout", a knockout game with the last person standing winning LED flatscreen television.

"Phil Vivlamore and Sears have stepped up to provide a signature event for the night that will generate a lot of excitement," says Bill Mitchell, Bears' assistant athletic director.

Numerous other promotions and giveaways will occur throughout the evening.

Two $500 drawings will take place at halftime of each game and Subway will be providing coupons for free subs as well as a chance to win a 6' foot party sub for Super Bowl Sunday.

"Bear Pride" t-shirts, compliments of Great Northern Printing, will be shot from a t-shirt launcher during the games.

Also the Potsdam Youth Basketball fifth and sixth grade girls' team will be on hand to display their skills as part of an entertaining night for Bear fans.

Admission is free for all alumni and their families by visiting the Alumni Relations table in the lobby located near the Maxcy Hall ticket window.

Admission also is free for all area high school students who wear their school colors.
