POTSDAM -- The SUNY Potsdam athletic department will host the first of two “Bear Pride” nights for 2010-11 Friday, Dec. 3, as the men's hockey team takes on SUNY Plattsburgh at 7 p.m. at Maxcy Hall Ice Arena.

In addition, Saturday's men's hockey game against Hobart at 7 p.m., will be broadcast live by Time Warner Cable Sports on cable channel 9 in Potsdam.

On Friday, the athletic department will host a number of events as part of Bear Pride Night. The College Store and PACES will sponsor a Chinese basket auction in the main hallway by the arena entrance, while the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will sponsor a Chuck-A-Puck contest between the first and second period.

Fans who make a donation to the Bears Stick It To Cancer initiative Friday will be entered into a drawing for a chance to participate in the Sears Shootout, to be held at the end of the second period. The winner of the shootout will receive a 42-inch flat screen television. In addition, a Bears men's hockey jersey will be auctioned off.

All proceeds from the shootout and jersey raffle will benefit Bears Stick It To Cancer, a fundraising effort sponsored by North Country Savings Bank which seeks to donate money to the American Cancer Society in its push for cancer research and awareness.
