CANTON – “Battle of the Books” will hold a meeting at Canton middle school library, 99 State St., on Jan. 22 at 2:35 p.m.
Interested students in grades 4 through 6 are invited to the meeting.
The Battle of the Books sees students form teams of up to four members and choose an adult as a coach. Teams may be of mixed grades, as long as they are fourth through sixth grade student, and may be made up of students who attend different Canton area schools or are homeschooled.
Teams will read a chosen list of twenty books and during the battle in May, they will be asked questions about the books on the list, and will need to give the book’s title and author as their answer.
The winning team will go on to a regional competition to face winning teams from other North Country Library System libraries.
Students who are homeschooled or attend Little River Community School or St. Mary’s may attend this meeting or get an information/registration packet in the children’s room at the Canton Free Library.
