WADDINGTON -- Thousands are expected in Waddington today through Friday as more than 200 anglers in the Bassmaster Eastern Divisional compete for big bass on the St. Lawrence River.

Accompanying the tournament will be Waddington’s Party at the Park, which will feature vendors, live music and fireworks.

“Listen to the sounds of top bands as they rock the weekend away. Eat great food, enjoy cold beverages, or paddle your way to the lead in our local kayak race. Relax as the kids play the day away on rides and finish the night viewing fireworks in the North Country skies,” a release from organizers says.

Events kickoff Thursday with Canton jam rockers Waydown Wailers at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday Echoes in Black will perform at 11:30 a.m. followed by the BASS final at 3:30 p.m.

Lacey Stoddard-Peets will perform at 5 p.m. followed by Chris Taylor and the Custom Taylor band at 7 p.m.

On Saturday Tom Murray Jr. will open the day with soft rock and folk at 11:30 p.m. At 1 p.m. The Double Barrel Blues Band will play. Also at 1 p.m. is the Miss and Mr. Outdoors Pageant. Kids will sport camouflage, tiaras and crowns.

At 5 p.m. Atomic Perception will performed followed by Crunchenstein .

At 9:30 p.m. events will close with a fireworks display.

There will be a coverage charge of $5 per day for entertainment. Veterans, active military and children will be admitted for free.

The events were made possible with help from the Village of Waddington, St. Lawrence County, volunteers and many local businesses.
