CANTON -- Barb Heller’s “Jam School” will be offered on Tuesdays Aug. 11, 18, and 25 from noon to 1 p.m. at TAUNY, 53 Main St.
The cost is $45 or $40 for TAUNY Friends.
The lessons teach how to navigate written music and play in a group, covers time signatures, repeats, first and second endings, codas, and other musical terms that can befuddle a first-time jammer.
Students will practice jam etiquette, and finish the course prepared to join TAUNY's monthly music jams which resume in September.
The class is open to players of any acoustic fretted instrument, and participants should bring their own instrument.
