CANTON - Poet Joanie Mackowski will speak and read from recent works in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Thursday, March 22, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall.
The event, part of the University Writers Series, is open to the public, free of charge. Mackowski is the author of View From a Temporary Window (2010) and The Zoo (2002).
Winner of the Emily Dickinson Prize from the Poetry Society of America, Mackowski's poems have been published in a variety of journals and her third collection of poems, in progress, explores lyric poetry from an ecocritical vantage point.
