Author, self-described 'intern queen' Lauren Berger to speak in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam will host the bestselling author and self-described "intern queen," Lauren Berger, for an upcoming talk.

The free event is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Barrington Student Union Multi-Purpose Room. Berger will offer a bevy of information and advice for students on how to both obtain and excel in a high-level internship experience.

Berger is the founder and CEO of Intern Queen Inc., and is the author of the national campus bestseller, "All Work, No Pay: Finding an Internship, Building Your Resume, Making Connections and Gaining Job Experience."

One of the most in-demand internship experts in the country, her entrepreneurial spirit has inspired and influenced millions of job and internship seekers. Berger participated in 15 internships during her four years of college, and subsequently, adopted the title "intern queen," before launching her business of the same name. She interned for top-notch companies across the country. such as MTV, FOX, BWR Public Relations and NBC. Berger graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2006, and her first job was working at Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills.

She started InternQueen.com in 2009, when she was 24 years old.

Now, as an international speaker, Berger works with more than 500 employers located all across the U.S. and Canada. Her website reaches nearly 100,000 different students, parents, and employers each month. She has connected hundreds of students with the internships of their dreams and has spoken to thousands of high school and college students across the country.

Berger has a weekly advice column on the Washington Post website and has been recently featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Fox Business, New York Post, and many more.
