OGDENSBURG -- St. John’s Conservatory Theater will hold auditions April 16 at 6 p.m. for their upcoming production “Alice Isn’t All There,” a musical comedy based on Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.”

Tryouts will be at the St. John’s Parish House theater, corner of Knox and Franklin streets.

Those auditioning should prepare an a cappella song of their choice and be read to read from the script.

A news release says variety artists, such as comics, dancers, musicians, jugglers and others are “strongly encouraged” to audition. Adults can try out as well.

The troupe debuted “Alice Isn’t All There” in 2014 to what writer Richard O’Donnell described as “packed houses.”

The play “is a musical comedy a la Tim Burton meets Monty Python,” O’Donnell said, who wrote the play’s book, music and lyrics.

The show will have a two-week run in June.

It will be a fully staged production with new arrangements and orchestrations by OFA student Ryan McNally.

Tickets will go on sale in mid-April at brownpapertickets.com for $10.

JCT creative staff includes producer and director O’Donnell, musical director and choreographer Angela Conzone Dwyer, arranger and orchestrator Ryan C. McNally, scenic and prop designer Stephen Chambers, costume and makeup Designer Karen Fischbeck Carmany, technical director and production coordinator Christopher Dwyer and stage manager Sadie Smith. Collectively they have over five decades of professional theatrical and academic experience including regional, stock, bus and truck, off-off-Broadway, off-Broadway, and Broadway stages, O’Donnell said.

Other personnel includes rector Michael O’Donnell, assistant technical director Ryan Woodard, assistant costumer Ann Losurdo, assistant set dresser Pat Kelly, house manager Sheila LaMere, and general manager Bill LaMere.
