CANTON -- The Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence Valley will present the first of two organ recitals held at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music.
The space was made available to St. Lawrence University’s organist and musician-in-residence Sondra Goldsmith Proctor during the restoration of Gunnison Memorial Chapel.
The recital will feature the music of composers Gilles Leclerc and Rachel Laurin of Ottawa, as well as Maurice Duruflé, a French composer and organist, and Michael Sitton, the Crane School’s Dean.
The performance will take place at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at SUNY Potsdam’s Hosmer Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
A second performance will take place at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in Hosmer Hall, celebrating the grand masters of the organ Herman Berlinski and Charles-Marie Widor.
