POTSDAM – The schedule of yoga classes from the St. Lawrence County Arts Council starting in February has been set.
They are held at Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St., Potsdam. Contact the council to register and pre-pay for classes at 265-6860 or www.slcartscouncil.org.
• Yoga Break with Monique Christensen, Tuesdays, Feb. 14 to March 20, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., or Thursdays, Feb. 16 to March 22 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Increase mental focus, strength, balance, stamina, flexibility, relieve stress and relax through movement, breathing and meditation. $45 for six weeks, each series.
• Kundalini Yoga with Gurumantra Kaur, Tuesdays, Feb. 14 to March 13, 7:15-8:45 p.m., or Fridays, Feb. 17 to March 16 from 8-9:30 a.m. Exercise your mind, body and spirit. For participants of all levels of experience. Register for Tuesday or Friday classes: $57 for 5 weeks.
• Managing Stress through Yoga with Monique Christensen, Saturdays, Feb. 25 to March 31, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Increase balance, flexibility, stamina, strength and mental focus, relieves stress and helps you relax. Emphasis on breathing while stretching. $69 for 6 weeks.
• Yoga for Your Health with Terry de la Vega, Wednesdays, Feb. 29 to April 4, 7-8:30 p.m. Designed to encourage students to go at their own individual capacity and to explore their inner strengths. Warm up stretches, yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, deep relaxation, and chanting; a general hatha yoga class in the Kripalu style, open to people of all abilities. $69 for 6 weeks.
