POTSDAM -- There will be a March 12 opening for an upcoming show hosted by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council featuring the poetry and artwork of St. Lawrence University students.
The show, “Animalia: Visual Poems About Animals,” will feature the works of 18 St. Lawrence students who are enrolled in an advanced poetry class taught by Sarah Barber and an art and text class taught by Wes Kline. Students, many of whom do not consider themselves artists, were challenged to turn their original animal-themed poems into some form of visual art.
The exhibit will run from Monday, March 2, to April 2 at the St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery, 18 Elm Street. An opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. Refreshments will be served.
