St. Lawrence County Arts Council will host art classes for special needs people in Massena, Potsdam and Gouverneur.
Tracy Wanamaker, who SLC Arts says is a “board-certified music therapist,” will lead classes.
The sessions will include singing, movement, dancing, playing instruments, creating, painting and more. SLC Arts says the activities will “stimulate the senses, encourage creativity and increase socialization.”
Registration is required: 265-6860 or www.slcartscouncil.org, click “Classes,” then “Special Arts.”
Cost is $10 per class and scholarships are available based on financial need.
The Potsdam adults group meets Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Snell Hall, 41 Elm St., room 126. The teens and tweens group meets at the same place on Feb. 11 and 25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
The Massena teens and tweens group meets at the Massena Community Center, 60 Beach St., on Feb. 4 and 18 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The Gouverneur adults group meets at the recreation center at 3 Trinity Ave. on Feb. 24 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
