Arizona illustrations featured at Wednesday tea at Ogdensburg's Remington Museum

OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., will continue the free 2013 Art Highlights and Tea Series with a presentation by Sue Longshore Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m.

Sue Longshore will discuss Martha Summerhayes and her memoir “Vanished Arizona,” which features Remington illustrations.

Tea will be served at 3 p.m. The cost to participate in the tea is $10 for museum members, $12 for non-members.

The menu will include a melon ball assortment, strawberry mini muffins, a blueberry tea bread, chicken deviled eggs, cream cheese stuffed sugar snap peas and pinwheel and checkerboard tea sandwiches. Dessert will include cream puffs, lemon squares, chocolate crinkle cookies and carrot cake.

The final lecture in the series will be April 10 with Paul Pedersen.

Pedersen will present on his experiences as a visual artist. He trained as a sculptor and then became a painter. He will also present on his flatwork Lobo Calls his Mate, which is Remington inspired.
