CANTON -- The Any Music Singers will present its free winter concert “Short Stories” on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Peterson-Kermani Hall in Griffiths Arts Center at St. Lawrence University.
A second concert will be presented on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. at the Diane Burns Riverside Apartments, 37 Riverside Dr.
The concert will feature engaging music in a variety of styles, all based on short stories written by chorus members. These stories range from a poignant diary of a Canton man traveling up the Missouri River, to a rousing gospel sermon about the creation of the world, to an ironic story of a woman without a nose.
The Any Music Singers is an open community chorus, directed by Paul Siskind.
Formed in 2012, TAMS attracts singers from around the North Country.
Its repertoire is as diverse as the backgrounds and musical tastes of its singers, and includes music from a variety of styles, eras, and cultures.
The chorus often performs concerts that support projects and organizations within local communities.
