LOUISVILLE -- The Wilson Hill Association, Town of Louisville, and the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department will host the third annual Turtle Trot Walk-Run fundraiser July 14.
The event will be open to the public and all proceeds will be donated to the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department.
There were 177 registered participants in 2010; participation increased to 188 in 2011. This year’s goal is 200 participants.
The walk-run is professionally timed. There will also be door prizes, a raffle, and an auction. Light post race refreshments will be provided.
First place medals will be awarded to male / female winners in each of the following age groups: 15 and under; 16-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69, 70-plus.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., with a 9 a.m. race start
Free hats and t-shirts will be handed out to the first 150 registered.
The event takes place at Whalen Park, 1.5 miles west of the Massena Country Club on State Route 131.
The race course is a 3.2-mile flat, fast, scenic route along the St. Lawrence River. For a registration form and map of the race route visit www.wilsonhillassoc.com

Bathroom facilities will be available and cups of drinking water will be provided along the route. The route will be marshaled and well-marked, organizers say.
Entry fee is $15 for adults, $6 for under age 12. Checks should be payable to Wilson Hill Association.
