CANTON -- The Annual TAUNY Folkstore Holiday Showcase will open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 5 and will run through the end of December at the TAUNY Center's 53 Main St. location.

This special showcase is a temporary expansion of the Folkstore during the holiday season and is a chance to display and sell additional merchandise in The TAUNY Center’s first floor gallery space.

The Holiday Showcase will include larger works by Folkstore Artists and will also feature new additions to the Folkstore including watercolor paintings by Peggy Mooers, felted cards by Kathy Montan, Amish quilts by Mary Miller, salad forks by Eric Smith, zippered pouches by Gretchen Vincent, trivets by Kathy Miller, ornate hunting knives by Nancey Bracket, The Buffalo Spirit by Dale Healey, and more.

The opening of the TAUNY Folkstore Holiday Showcase kicks off the holiday season at The TAUNY Center which will include seasonal programs, a gingerbread workshop and contest, and the annual Holiday Open House and Sugar & Spice Opening.

The TAUNY Folkstore features authentic, handmade products from more than a hundred individuals and families throughout the region. It provides an outlet for local traditional artists to sell their items and serves as a resource for visitors to find local products for souvenirs and gifts. Proceeds from Folkstore sales support TAUNY’s educational programs, including performances, demonstrations, and workshops by master traditional artists.
