COLTON -- The annual town-wide garage sales in Colton will be held Friday, July 28, through Sunday, July 30.

Maps showing locations plus days and times of weekend sales around town will be available in several locations: Town Hall on Thursday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.; Colton Hepburn Library on Thursday from 1-5 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-noon, and Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.; and the Colton Museum on Thursday through Sunday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The map has 14 locations including the Colton Museum on Main Street. Other locations are anticipated around town.

In the Museum the town’s Tourism & Beautification Committee will have painted barn quilts for sale, along with other products to help raise funds for local projects.

The products include DVDs about the Raquette River, note cards featuring the artwork of local artist Don Holland, Adirondack 102 Club books guiding people to the 102 towns and villages of the Adirondacks including Colton, commemorative shirts from musicals in 2017 and prior years, and more.

The Museum the Colton Historical Society will sell artwork donated by the family of Judy Filarecki to support Museum efforts. Filarecki, known for her nature painting, was involved with the Society as well as the town’s Tourism & Beautification Committee before her death in 2016.

The Colton Historical Society will have some other items for sale including an old organ, movie screen, and scooter.
