HOGANSBURG -- The annual Akwesasne Basket Drive, which will be held at the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Station.

The drive will be held Friday, Dec. 14 and will include a $5 benefit breakfast and lunch at 7 a.m. at the fire station.

The drive will provide Akwesasne families with holiday meals and gifts. Advance orders can be placed at 358-2161.

Other highlights will include a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and the “Mountain of Toys.” A Santa raffle for an iPad mini, Kindle Fire and Wii U will also be drawn.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino will again provide staff and food. Last year the casino and the Mohawk Bingo Palace collected toys worth an estimated $5,000 to be donated to the drive.
