RAYMONDVILLE -- AMVETS Post 4 will sponsor a golf tournament on Aug. 26 at Raquette River Golf & Country Club.

The proceeds from the tournament will benefit Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures, (WWOA), a local veterans’ service organization.

The tournament is a four-person captain and crew format with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The cost for the tournament is $240 per team including entry fees, greens fees and carts. Included also are lunch at the turn, a buffet dinner following the tournament at AMVETS Post #4, Andrews Street, giveaways and cash prizes.

People who want to enter a team can call Ben Gladding at 250-6969 or AMVETS at 315-764-0686. To sponsor a team or a hole, or to donate a prize, contact Nancy Curran at 315-769-6604.

WWOA is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization created and supported by North Country sportsmen and veterans with the mission of providing Wounded Warriors, along with families and battle buddies, opportunities to experience activities available in the area.

WWOA volunteers take veterans camping, hunting, fishing, boating and hiking among other recreational activities. They also provide the assistance needed for disabled vets to fully participate in these therapeutic activities. More information on Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures and their mission can be found on their Facebook page.
