EDWARDS -- North Country natives John and Orion Kribs will return to the area for a show of original Americana music at the Edwards Opera House Aug. 26 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and available at the door.

Father and Son, John and Orion Kribs, have been making music together a long time. Both are accom-plished multi-instrumentalists whose eclectic styles cover everything from Elvis and Carl Perkins to Gershwin, John Lee Hooker and O’Carolan. “Roots” best describes their style but their sound is unique to them. Their songs reflect a wide range of Americana and the sound is that of musical styles not only passed down from father to son but of endless hours of playing, listening and learning together.

John’s songs have reached the top of the “American Play” charts in France and have been featured on NPR’s “Car Talk” . In 2008, Orion and John won a spot on the prestigious MUSIC HEARD UP NORTH , a 3-disc compilation released by North Country Public Ra-dio, with “Lipstick Stains", a song written by Orion.

In addition to performing as "John and Orion Kribs", the duo also perform and record with several other groups including The Bluebillies, The Trophy Hus-bands, Adrenaline Pumpkin (with National Banjo Champion Chris Leske and bassist Arlin Greene), and long time favorites "Johnny & The Triumphs" and "The Racquette River Rounders".
