CANTON – American Kang Duk Won will offer karate and self-defense programs at St. Lawrence University and St. Mary’s Elementary School, 2 Powers St., this spring.
Lessons are conducted by black belt instructors and emphasize fitness, self-defense and traditional disciplines in martial arts.
Family programs run on Wednesdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the school. Personal safety and awareness are discussed as part of each class.
The SLU program is offered on Mondays at the Stafford Fitness Center from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Lessons are for ages 14-17 and adults. To signup, contact 229-5415.
A free introductory class is available for those who with to try a workout. No previous experience is needed. The classes are non-competitive.
