POTSDAM -- “Almost, Maine” will be presented by the Potsdam High School Drama Club Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18. Both shows will start at 7 p.m.

The performances will take place in the high school auditorium.

The play is based on the book “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani.

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States — it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just… Almost.

One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same.

The cast includes: Dimitri Damon as Pete (Ginette’s boyfriend), and Marissa Carl as Ginette (Pete’s girlfriend). Isabel Pecora plays, Glory (a hitchhiker), and Jacques Kuno plays East (a repairman). Chris Brooks as Jimmy (a heating and cooling guy), Jillian Todd as Sandrine (his ex), and Kyrsta Shores as a Waitress.

Other cast members include: Taylor Murray as Marvalyn (a woman who is very good at protecting herself), and Mark Melman as Steve (an open, kind fellow whose brother protects him). Daniel Chichester and Katelyn Clemons play Lendall and Gayle (a long time couple). Mark Melman and Danny Clark play Randy and Chad (two cowboys).

Daniel Chichester plays Phil (a hardworking man), and Sammie Frick plays Marci (his wife). Delaney Normile plays Hope (a woman who has traveled the world), and Dimitri Damon plays A Man (who has not). Melanie Atkinson as Rhonda (a tough woman), and Jacques Kuno as Dave (the not-so-tough man who loves her).

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased through a cast or crew member, or at the door.
