AKWESASNE -- Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort is celebrating its 15th anniversary during April with an assortment of special attractions such as discounts, dining specials, higher bingo payouts, commemorative t-shirts, and promotional giveaways.

On Saturday, April 12, $15,000 in cash will be given away. One lucky person will take home $5,000 at 9 p.m. All bingo games at the anniversary session will pay out $500 that day.

The anniversary celebration concludes April 26 with the award of a new Chevy Camaro convertible from Frenchie’s Chevrolet of Massena, which is on display at the casino. Participants earn entries towards the car giveaway beginning April 13.

In April 1999, AMCR opened its doors with a 60,000 square foot property with 90 table games, a buffet restaurant, small bar, and gift shop. Video machines did not arrive until June 1999.

Last April, AMCR completed a $74 million expansion with the opening of its seven-story hotel including Sweetgrass Spa and a banquet center.

Today the 130,000 square foot complex, owned by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe of Akwesasne and on State Rt. 37 between Massena and Ft. Covington, features over 1,800 slot machines, a 540-seat bingo parlor, large selection of table games, four restaurants, a gift shop, and much more.

They employ almost 1,000 people.
