CANTON -- Adirondack Museum Curator Caroline M. Welsh will speak Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. in Griffiths Arts Center, room 123, St. Lawrence University.
Welsh is an art historian and director emerita of the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. Her work includes positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the Albany Institute of History and Art.
Welsh has curated several exhibits on history and art and has lectured and published widely on the subject of Adirondack art and artists. She is currently a consultant for museums, collections management, and exhibition development; an independent art curator; and a national peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums.
Welsh's presentation coincides with an Adirondack-based exhibition that examines and explores the region from a variety of perspectives. The exhibition runs through Oct. 11.
