The Adirondack Mountain Club Laurentian Chapter is hosting four canoe trips in July, August and September.

July 27 (Sunday) Paddle to Raquette Falls from Axton Landing. 12 miles round trip. Gentle current, moderate. Contact Dick Mooers at 854-4186 or rmooers@twcny.rr.com.

August 6 (Wednesday) Picnic and Paddle at Higley Flow State Park. Evening. Paddle a short distance to the spooky “Black Lagoon.” Return to the beach for a self-catered picnic supper. Participants may bring a mystery goody to share or a ghost story. Playground for smaller children, swimming available. Contact Dick and Peggy Mooers at 854-4186 or rmooers@twcny.rr.com

August 20 (Wednesday) Picnic and Paddle on the Grass River. Will launch on the Little River and paddle up to Taylor Park on the Grasse River for a picnic. Late afternoon, contact Tom Ortmeyer at 265-8219 or tortmeye@gmail.com.

September 13 (Saturday) Paddle the Saranac River and Lakes. For sea kayakers and fast canoe paddlers. South Creek boat launch to Saranac Lake village, car shuttle.
