OGDENSBURG – Community Action Angels are hosting an interactive afternoon of knit and crochet at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, 950 Linden St., on May 17 at 1:30 p.m. Whether you’re an avid craftsperson, you have a free afternoon, or even if you’ve never picked up a needle or hook, you’re invited to join them.

Community Action Angels’ “AngelMade” project matches donors of knit, crocheted, sewn, and quilted items with people in need. Donations are distributed through local area hospitals, nursing homes, and charitable organizations.

“Phase II” of the AngelMade project travels the county, with its mobile knit/crochet group, visiting, teaching, and celebrating the very people it aspires to help. The public is welcome – and encouraged – to attend.

Community Action Angels is a statewide, volunteer-driven initiative that strives to assist in meeting needs that they cannot meet through other resources. Through programs, drives, and events, Community Action Angels embraces the philosophy of giving.

Those helped are encouraged to help others in return, thus creating a “Circle of Giving” in St. Lawrence County.

For more information on Community Action Angels, or to volunteer, contact Alicia Murphy, 386-1102 x27.

Community Action Angels is a program of the St. Lawrence County Community Development Program.
