POTSDAM -- Molly Gushea of Heuvelton will teach acting classes for teens and adults once per month this fall. Community members may register for any of the classes they are available to attend.

The first meets on Sept. 20.

Gushea has experience as a communications specialist, theater musical producer and director, and stage manager for various productions in the North Country, according to the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.

She will help students develop their acting skills through monologue development, scene work and character analysis.

Students should be willing to memorize lines for rehearsal in class and should know some basic theater terms.

They will learn how to choose and develop audition materials and will leave with material to audition for plays or musicals.

Classes meet Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 20, Oct. 25 and Nov. 8.

Each class is $36, and students should bring a favorite monologue with them. Discounted rates are available for SLC Arts members and those with financial need. Class will meet in room 230, Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St.

Pre-registration is required: 315-265-6860, www.slcartscouncil.org and click "Calendar."
