RUSSELL -- The Acoustic Brothers will perform Saturday, May 23, at 7 p.m. at the Russell Theater, 4 Pestle St.

The group includes Jacob Barney on Bass Guitar, Jeff Mott on Drums, Austin Scott as Lead Guitar, Alex Hammond as Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar. The Acoustic Brothers band has been performing since 2008. Now, college age, they continue to be very well known in St. Lawrence County. They have performed all over the North Country and down state

Initially favoring the Beatles, they play a wide range of genres, mostly favoring the 60's and 70's and a variety of artists including well-known classics like Stairway to Heaven, House of the Rising Sun, Sweet Home Alabama, Hotel California, Folsom Prison Blues, and Free Bird, just to name a few. Band members have written several original songs, and keep adding to their repertoire.

The Acoustic Brothers have a following of people of all ages and their songs have aired on the radio and several newscasts about them have appeared on TV.

Gigs have included many fundraisers, benefits, church events, graduation/birthday/retirement parties, dances, jamborees, reunions, and festivals all over the North Country, extending into Alexandria Bay and other areas. More about these young men can be found on their original website, where you can learn more about how the band started and also book gigs: http://theacousticbrothers.webs.com/

At the Russell Theater, admission is a donation to help with the restoration of the hall. Light refreshments will be served and a 50/50 raffle will be held. Call Tess Eells for more info at 347-2358.
