CHIPPEWA BAY -- The Ogdensburg Flotilla of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer the certified About Boating Safely course from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 21 at River Bay Adventures, 97 New Road.
Participants are required to attend both nights.
The course is required in New York State for anyone 14 or older who operates a personal watercraft and for young adults ages 10-18 to operate a boat alone.
Anyone born on or after May 1, 1996 is also required to take the course to operate a motorized boat unsupervised.
The certificate awarded at the end of the course is valid in every state.
Cost of the course is $35 per person and family plans are available. Register: John Gardner at 393-6488, M-F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
