POTSDAM – The book discussion group sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will be discussing The Heretic's Daughter: A Novel by Kathleen Kent on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at noon at the Potsdam Public Library.
A family conflict becomes a matter of life and death in this gripping first novel based on a family history from a descendent of a condemned Salem witch.
The protagonist's front-row view of the imprisonment and trials provides a fresh and unconventional take on a much-covered episode.
The book for discussion next month, Sept. 14, is Water, Pure and Simple: The Infinite Wisdom of an Extraordinary Molecule by Paolo Consigli, MD.
For more information, call AAUW Book Discussion Chair Pat Musante at the Potsdam Public Library at 265-7230.
The public is invited and a brown bag lunch is encouraged.
