OGDENSBURG -- More than 380 students from Heuvelton and Ogdensburg and Morristown will visit the ninth Living History Day at Lighthouse Point on May 18.

Fort La Presentation Association hosts the "hands-on history" day that allows students to experience what is was like to live during colonial times.

Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, rope making, colonial lighting, butter churning, weaving, colonial toys, and much more will be held. Students will complete scavenger hunt questions for a chance to win prizes.

The day will end with the firing of cannon.

This event is sponsored by the Fort La Presentation Association, Heuvelton Central School, Ogdensburg City Schools, the Heuvelton Lions Club, the Ogdensburg Teacher's Association, the Heuvelton Teacher’s Association, and the Heuvelton PTA.
