79th Hammond Fair set for Friday and Saturday with musical acts, kids' games, ice cream social, more
HAMMOND – The 79th Hammond Fair will be held Friday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the fairgrounds at 323 Lake St.
The community-supported fair will feature a variety of activities, including animal judging, live music, kids' games and food.The schedule includes:
• Friday, Sept. 14: 8-10 a.m. breakfast served, 9-10:15 a.m. fitting & showmanship clinic, 10:15-11 a.m. FFA and 4-H judging contests, 11 a.m. beef judging classes and vegetable and homemaking judging, noon Hammond Central School band performs, 12:30 p.m. dairy showmanship classes followed by individual classes, 3 p.m. ice cream social, 4-5 p.m. ice cream social, 4-5 p.m. bossy bingo and 8 p.m. outdoor movie.
• Saturday, Sept. 15: 8-10 a.m. breakfast served, 9 a.m. exhibits open; 9:30 a.m. 4-H draft horse/horse show, and rabbit, poultry, sheep, pig and goat judging; 11 a.m. entertainment, 12:30 p.m. children's games, 1:30 p.m. bossy bingo; 2 p.m. ice cream social, pet show, cake walk and Kentucky Derby hat contest; 3:30 p.m. recognitions, decorated cake auction and daring for raffle prizes.
