DEKALB JUNCTION – The Orebed Sugar Shack will host a 5K “Sap Run” on Saturday, March 15 at 503 Orebed Rd.
Registration is at 1 p.m. with an official start at 1:30 p.m. The event is a non-competitive, fun run/walk to raise money for the fight against cancer in St. Lawrence County.
Anyone raising a total of $25 will receive a free t-shirt, while supplies last. Participants can run, walk, jog or push a stroller as individuals or groups.

After the run, weather permitting, watch syrup being made.
It the weather doesn’t allow boiling to take placethere will be plenty of samples of maple syrup, maple candy and maple cream.
There will also be several raffles.
The Ceremonial Tree Tapping signaling the beginning of sugaring season in the North Country will take place at 11 a.m. at the Orebed Sugar Shack.
