POTSDAM – The Neighborhood PEOF Pavilion project will benefit from a fun-filled 5K run/walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9 starting behind the A.A. Kingston Middle School, Lawrence Avenue.
Race day registration is from 9 to 9:45 a.m. for $20 for adults, $12 for kids 12 and younger.
The project's mission is to build a place to promote community activities, bring people together, and provide a safe space for families to gather all year round.
The plan calls for the large pavilion as an outdoor space under cover at the Lawrence Avenue Elementary School. It will be a place where families can gather for picnics or celebrations while enjoying the nearby playground; where community organizations or school clubs can meet or hold public events; where school children can enjoy lessons outside in the fresh air while being sheltered from the sun.
