CANTON -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County and SUNY Canton Veterinary Program will offer the 2013 4-H Vet Science Program once again this winter.
The 4-H program is now taking registration for those who may be interested in attending this program.
These classes are designed for youth, from 13 to 18, who may have an interest in a future in the Animal Science Professions. This is a terrific opportunity for them to experience a taste of college life at the SUNY Canton Veterinary Campus. We offer this program to 4-H Club members and Public Schools students.
CCE offers five classes in conjunction with SUNY Canton Veterinary Program and the classes are held at the Canton College Campus. The fee for participating is $15.
Following the organizational meeting when the students return to campus at the end of January, we will mail out the date and time information to those that have registered.
In the past the five classes run one evening each week through February and March.
Previous classes have covered such topics as Animal Health, Pathology, Radiology, lab sessions and the opportunity to experience the campus life. Each year the classes are taught by the current Vet Tech students under the supervision of Campus and Extension Staff.
