3K and 5K run/walks to be held in Potsdam, Canton, Waddington and Norwood

The “Prom Day 3K Formal Wear Fun Run/Walk” will take place May 3 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Half Tons, 141 Market St. Participants can register at noon.

The cost is $10 per runner or $5 for entry into the “Ugly Dress Contest.”

Walkers start are 12:30 p.m. and runners at 1 p.m.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first place finisher for men and women, the best poker hand and the ugliest dress.

Snacks, hotdogs and a cash bar will be provided at Half Tons following the race.

The event will benefit the Sandstoner Foundation and Potsdam Booster Club.

The third “Steps for Savana” 5K Fun Walk/Run will be held May 3 at 10 a.m. at the Remington Recreational Trial main entrance at Partridge Run Golf Course.

Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m.

There is a $25 fee.

All proceeds benefit The Golisano Children’s Hospital and the Steps for Savana Memorial Fund to held local families with medical and travel expenses.

There will be a "Get Off Your Bass and Motor" 5K run/walk on May 3.

The event will be to offset costs of bringing to the village a BassMasters tournament later this year and a BassMasters Elite tournament next year.

Cost is $20 per person.

Registration starts the day of the race at 1 p.m., race time is 2 p.m.

It starts and ends at River Lanes.

A 5K Color Run Celebration benefit will be held May 4 at 11 a.m. at Norwood-Norfolk Central School at the cross-country trails.

The cost is $20 and participants can register from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Proceeds benefit the Norwood-Norfolk All Night Graduation Party.

The race will end with a colored powdered celebration when all runners finish.
