CANTON -- The 34th annual Edward I Moses Walk/Run for Life is set to begin at Appleton Arena at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29, sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund.
In addition to the walk/run, there is also a health fair, with health screenings and information about good health.
A Zumbathon with eight instructors runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Winter Cancer Center is offering a free colorectal cancer screening to eligible people.
Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley will provide general information.
Other organizations attending will be E.J. Noble Hospital of Gouverneur, Gouverneur Business Women Breast Cancer Organization, Massena Memorial Hospital, Ryan’s Wish Foundation, St. Lawrence County Cancer Services Program, and the St. Lawrence Health Initiative.
Registration for the run/walk is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The health fair is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The race begins at 11:30. The grand prize ceremony is to be at 1:30 p.m.
This the main fund raiser for the organization. All of the money remains in St Lawrence County to fight cancer and improve health.
