GOUVERNEUR -- The Gouvenreur & St. Lawrence County Fair is coming back from July 29 to Aug. 3 for its 163rd year with rides, a demolition derby, "xtreme pogo," harness races, a talent show, a garden tractor pull, live music and stunt cars and BMX.
There will be carnival rides daily from 4 to 11 p.m. on July 29 and 1 to 11 p.m. each other day. Daily event swill also include a petting zoo, agricultural awareness exhibit and Future Farmers of America and 4-H agricultural judging and demonstrations.
Daily gate admission is free and parking is $5.
July 29 activities include harness races at noon. A local garden tractor pull will kick off at 6 p.m.. Admission is $8 and free for children under age 10.
July 30 will feature a high school band parade at 1:30 p.m. and a firemen's parade at 7 p.m.
The talent show is set for July 31 at 6:30 p.m.
The Xtreme Pogo Jumpers and BMX will offer a thrill show on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children age 10 and under.
Country music artist Craig Campbell will perform on Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25.
The fair will round out with the demolition derby on Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. Admission to that event is $12.
The fairgrounds are on East Barney Street, behind Gouverneur High School.
