OGDENSBURG -- Live music and classic cars will fill the city's harbor June 1 as the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce hosts the 10th annual Car-B-Que.

Chamber Executive Director Sandra Porter said the 10th Mountain Division Band will perform at the event with its brass band "10 Degrees" and its rock band Avalanche.

Guests will also be able to see motorcycles on display for the first time ever. Porter said riders are encouraged to bring their bikes to display at the event.

"There is no registration needed they can just pull up and park them," she said.

Continuing tradition the event will begin with more than 100 cars lining up at Ogdensburg Walmart at 10 a.m.

The parade will leave at 11 a.m. continuing down Ford Street to the Ogdensburg Dobisky Center.

More than 20 trophies will be given away in categories ranging from people's choice to best hard luck story.

"Every year we have someone who has bad luck. They get their car backed into or they have a leaky gas tank," she said. "It's become a tradition of sorts."

Porter said the Ogdensburg Public Library and Remington Museum's Kid's Place is tying a children's event into the show. Kids were asked to submit their vision of an ideal vehicle to the to either location.

A lucky winner will be selected and awarded for their design.

"It will be done in a lottery fashion, so everyone has a chance to win," she said.

Vendors, crafters and a variety of barbecued treats will also be available through out the event.

Porter said last year's weather dampened the event last year, but the forecast looks good for the time being.

"It looks good now, we just hope it stays that way. It should be a lot of fun," she said.
