Melissa Ellen Garwol and Joseph Nelson Ramie are engaged to be married.

Melissa is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Garwol of Rochester. She is a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, received from Oswego State University in 2005, and a master’s degree in education, received in 2011. She is currently employed by St. Lucie County Schools of Florida as a fourth grade teacher.

Joseph is the son of Susan Bartlett of Norwood and Joseph P. Ramie of Lisbon. He is a 2002 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School. He is also a 2004 graduate of SUNY Canton. He is currently employed at Home Depot.

The couple is planning a September 2013 wedding.
