Solid understanding of ultrasound (Philips ie33 and Philips iu22) systems and accurate knowledge of medical terminology and cardiac disease processes required. Ability to perform accurate measurements, calculations, and other data in accordance with established exam protocols and to properly prepare studies for interpretation by cardiologist / radiologists required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills required. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in health related specialty strongly preferred. Graduate of an approved Echocardiology training program preferred. Registered or registry eligible, to perform adult echo as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred: Must be registered (obtained) within 1-year of hire date. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. General typing and computer skills required. Additional knowledge in Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS), specifically Synapse and/or VidiStar systems preferred. 1-2 years of experience performing adult echocardiology exams, or equivalent clinical internship experience required. 2-3-years of performing adult and pediatric echocardiology in a health care setting preferred.
