This Position involves responsibilities of coordinating and administering emergency management, fire emergency management, and emergency medical services management, and the 911 System. Work is performed under general direction from the County Administrator in accordance with State and Federal regulations and guidelines. THE HISTORY DEPARTMENT AT SUNY POTSDAM seeks applications for a full-time tenure track, ten-month professional position as History Course Coordinator. The coordinator works in four introductory courses that serve 600-700 students per semester. The courses are hybrids, mixing traditional lecture, required time in the History Learning Lab (HLL), and self-paced study. The successful candidate will provide leadership of a team of graduate and undergraduate students who assist faculty members in the development and delivery of the courses; coordinate the assessment of student learning; administer course management systems and technologies; manage the HLL; supervise student workers; design forums in support of student learning; and maintain office hours to meet with students. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in history and Master's degree in history or Secondary Social Studies Education. Two years experience delivering hybrid or online courses. Experience working collaboratively with a team of faculty members in course development and delivery, leading a team of graduate students and undergraduate students in course development and delivery, and supervising student workers. THE ANTHROPOLOGY DEPARTMENT AT SUNY POTSDAM seeks a cultural anthropologist for a tenure-track assistant professor beginning September 2012. Advanced ABD required, PhD strongly preferred. The successful candidate will contribute to the five-field focus of the department, our majors in Anthropology and Archaeology, and our minors, and to college-wide interdisciplinary programs.
